We’re on!
It’s monday… with a vengance.
The boston trip has been up in the air since my last post. I had to purchase the tickets on Friday, then this morning, I was told it most likely wasn’t going to happen. My manager asked that I put a stop-ship on the servers (too late… they went out the door on friday) and to not order the software.
Now it’s back on again.
So… the servers are ordered and will actually be in Boston tomorrow, but I still have to get a few software packages. They have to be ordered and in my hot little hands by Friday, or I’ll find myself sitting in Boston with nothing to do until they show up there.
Software to get:
- Oracle 9i (aprox $46,360)
- Redhat ES v3 (three coppies) ($399 each with 1 year support)
- BEA Weblogic 8.1, SP 3 ($8,470 with 1 year support)
- Visual Mining – Netcharts EJB version 4.0 ($14,400 annual fee)
Oh… did I mention that this trip is a project that came directly from the CEO? Failure is NOT an option.
No pressure!

Good thing you know a bit about Linux….
I’m probably selling myself way short, but I feel like I don’t know a damn thing about Linux. Sure, I can install and config a box, but there’s a lot I don’t know.
And that’s the problem with knowledge… the more you know, the more you know that you don’t know. Therefore: The smarter you are, the more ignorant you become.
*sigh*
It’ll be fine… I’ll make sure of it.
Good Luck!
oh, and remember, config servers FIRST, get blind drunk on Irish beer SECOND.
