Ooooohh… a sparkly!

We took my wifes Jeep Liberty to the dealer for service on saturday.

I hate nearly every car dealership. It seems that once they get your money, they no longer care about you. This has not been our experience with the place we purchased the Liberty from, Barton Jeep.

Every time we go there, they make us feel special. They’re unbelievably polite and always go out of their way to make sure everything is perfect (including washing the vehicle every time we bring it by). I love them!

My wife need an oil change and mentioned that it was making a funny sound in the mornings when it was cold. The service tech recognized the symptoms and said it was a known issue with the rear brakes. Even though that part of the warranty was overdue by the date, it was still good by the mileage (12 months or 12,000 miles), so they went ahead a machined the rear disks and replaced the rear pads for free. He said it was “close enough”.

While I was there, I saw something I really liked. The 2007 Jeep Compass.

That is soooo my next vehicle. Of course, I’m opting for the 4×4 version with heated leather seats, 6 disk in dash CD/MP3 player, 18″ chrome wheels, and the sun roof.

I sat in the one in the showroom, and I totally fit. I guess I’m going to have to look at one of these when the time comes to get rid of the short bus I drive now (a 2003 Suzuki Aerio SX).

That Jeep Compass is the K-car of today, for what you would pay for it you can get a year old Caddy Deville and ride in style, not to mention reliability. By the way, Dodge markets the twin of that little Jeep for a few less dollars, its a piece of crap too. Get yourself a real car, your back will love you for it.

    ROFL!! 🙂

I like jeep, and I like 4×4 for those days when the roads are far less than pleasant (as those of us who live where it snows know all about).

I can also take a jeep to my friends mountain cabin. I wouldn’t even attempt that in a caddy.

But like I said… I’m not looking to buy today or even next year. It just caught my eye.
