Toné and the bad techno machine
This morning started with a bang!
Actually… it started with “THUD THUD THUD THUD CHUCKA CHUCKA CHUKA THUD!”
I got up at 6:30 this morning because I had an appointment with those wacky kids at Inland Imaging and their bad techno machine (aka: a GE Magnet Resonance Image machine, or MRI).
For those who have never had a MRI, I shall explain:
They make you strip down and put on some flimsy pajama bottoms, then they make you lie on a hard metal surface and insert you into an incredibly tight space. You can’t move for 45 minutes. You have to wear ear plugs because it’s incredibly loud… and it’s hot in the tube.
After about 20 minutes of lying on your back, being unable to move, subjected to body shaking noise, and having the ceiling of the tube just a few inches in front of your nose (it’s perfectly smooth and white… so it’s difficult to even focus your eyes), they extract you from it, inject magnetic dye into your veins, and then shove you back in for another 25 minutes.
Of course, you cant move during the extract, jab, insert.
And, of course, you’ll have to pee after the first 5 minutes (even if you went to the bathroom right before you started).
Of course, I’ve had worse (ask me about my discogram sometime…. it’s the single most painful thing anyone will ever have to endure!!).
At least I had a great cup of coffee before the appointment. I purchased a new Bunn NHBX brewer yesterday because I was sick of waiting 20 minutes for coffee to brew (the hard water in Spokane kills a normal coffee maker in about 6 months). From start to finish, a pot of wonderful coffee is now just 3 minutes away.
Comments are off for this postIt’s nearly that time!
Christmastm is nearly upon us! I guess it’s time for me to roll out this years wish list for your favorite webmaster.
And before you race to the store… I already have the coveted red swingline stapler (thanks to Eve… I love her!!)

First on the list, the “There’s no place like 127.0.0.1” doormat ($39.99 at thinkgeek.com). What better way to proclaim my geekness than to show it to the world.
Of course… no one else would get it, but that’s the beauty of it.
Fill the empty void in my life… order this for me!
Next up on the list of “OMG! I NEED THAT”…

Dead Like Me, Season I and Season II on DVD (around $36.00 each from Amazon.com.
I love this show and have only seen season 1. I would sing songs of your glory if these were to magically appear on Christmastm morning!
Yes indeedy… I would spend the whole weekend doing a Dead Like Me marathon. Forget bathing or even clean clothes…. this would be my sole purpose for living.

How about a couple of CD’s by New Order? Power Corruption & Lies and Substance are both hot on my list of the “must have”. You can get them online or at most any music store.
These are totally affordable (Substance is about $22.00 and Power, Corruption & Lies is around $11.00.
The gift of music always makes for a happy webmaster!
And finally… the gift of gifts…. the Samsung 46″ LCD HDTV (LN-S4695D)!!
I would totally build a shrine in your honor if you blessed my living room with this thing of beauty. With a contrast ratio of 6000:1 and 1080p resolution…. I could watch all those Dead Like Me DVD’s in style! This bad boy is currently on sale at Circuit City for $2499.99!
Please love me!

Keith Olbermann gives his take on 9-11, 5 years after the fact. These are some very powerful words.

Today… I found a great plugin for adding youtube, google video, ifilm, etc., into wordpress. It’s called Viper’s Video Quicktags and is stupid easy to install/use.
I’m currently toying with the 3.1.0 beta 1 version and so far it’s working like a peach.
